It may have another name, but it's a leather, or polyester snap-on cover for the vert cockpit, allowing for the driver side to be uncovered for driving.
I've seen these on MGs and other vert roadsters, but not C6s. Anyone know if there's a (online) manufacturer?
I knew it had other names. The Exotic Car Cover & Upholstery Shop in San Diego referred to it as "tonto" and said they would custom make it no problem, but I'm sure the price would be significantly lower if I found a manufacturer would already makes them.

No, it doesn't have other names, and it Exotic Car Cover calls it a "Tonto" I'd shop around.
I've not seen a Vette with a tonneau, and there are no vendors making them ... even if you are genuinely interested, there are some engineering issues to consider.
You need to fasten the tonneau front and rear. The MG tonneau used the "claws" shared by the vert top at the rear, and there was a snap on the inside of the A pillars + a fastener on the center of the dash. Here's a picture Porsche with the perimeter fasteners required ... http://members.aol.com/Porchrat/TONNO2.JPG
I've got a tonneau cockpit cover on my old MGB, but can't recall ever seeing one on a Vette vert....obviously doesn't provide any security, but seems like a decent idea if you're simply shoving it in the garage until next weekend and want to keep the interior clean.
I don't recall seeing one at any of the various forum sponsoras or vendors, but I haven't had a vette vert since our `75.
Please post a pic if you find one - - I'd enjoy seeing it.
I live in San Diego year 'round, but also have a house at Clear Lake in Northern California that I make trips to 4 times a year. I love to drive w/ top down straight through, but get a dirty passenger area going through the Central Valley agricultural areas.
A tonneau cockpit cover would help with that as well as keeping the sun from pounding on the upholstery. At some point, I'll probably have one made and will post pics.
