Default Leasing a corvette

Hey all. I'm pretty much in love with the new corvette. Ive been to sites like swapplease, and other ones where you can take over lease payments, but I cant seem to find anything under 500$. Right now I have a 2002 Roush mustang, and insurance is fairly high, but does anyone have any idea what insurance would be for a 23 yr old male, single. In other words, what are you paying monthly? I'm in love w/ the 05 and up corvettes, the c6, but am starting to think maybe the 97-04 is more in my price range. What do you all think?

Not usually one to give advice but unless you can afford it comfortably and without question go with the less expensive car. You are a young man and there will be plenty of time for a C7.

The math works out to be pretty close to monthly payments if you were buying the car ... pays for depreciation during period of lease so dealer can then sell and make money there, too.

If you are wondering if the payment will be below $500 it's not going to happen on a C6 lease with no money down. If you lease you should not put a penny down. Your payment will range anywhere from $800-$1000 with no money down (based on a 1LT $48K or a loaded $54K 3LT) for 3 years.

I agree with this whole heartedly

Waited 28 years for a Corvette myself and have loved it since i was 3 years old helping my uncle wash his.

The car is alot more enjoyable with out having to worry about a car payment that is out of budget.

They will be time to enjoy it down the road.

Default i lease

leased a 2004 and now 2007

YOU always FIGURE the total cost for the 3 year lease
there are those who say put little or nothing down
--we do put money down

YOU get figures both ways from the dealer----
what will the total cost of the lease be with nothing down
AND then with more money down

often THERE IS A DIFFERENCE,and the money down one ends up actually costing less TOTAL 3years than the no down.

just try it...trust me...

The only car you should ever think of leasing is BMW. They have some of the finest programs. Companies like chevrolet and such will go through 3rd party banks for things like these. You'll end up getting the same rate as if you were to buy it as others have said.

Give C7 a shot.

Just to add my 2 cents...on the insurance thing, there is no need to ask people on the forum. Get a real quote from some of the companies like Gieco, Esurance, 21st Century, etc online. Insurance prices will vary depending on a lot of factors, so it won't help you much to know what some others here are paying.

Leased my '04 and currently leasing my '06. Put money down on both because the math worked in my favor both times. I use my Vette as a daily driver and at the end of the lease it is definitely time to upgrade.
