Default reflecting back

Last Saturday I went on a cruise in with my corvette club (Floodcity Corvette Club, Johnstown, PA). This was the first time my wife and I traveled with a pack of corvettes and have to say the feeling was awesome. As we were all at stop light the light turned green and the race was on to get all 13 vettes through the light before it changed. As we were racing through the light I noticed 2 young kids (16 or 17 at the most) in a cavalier with one pointing at our cars lookin excited as all hell and his mouth running a mile ah minute, I turned to my wife and said that was me 25 years ago and thats the kid thats going to own one of these cars someday. I believe that most of us knew at an early age that we would own one of these fine cars someday and when I seen the way that kid acted when he saw our vettes it made me reflect back to that time in my life and made me feel fortunate that I now own one of these American Icons

Well said! I was also one of those kids 30 years ago, and I knew that someday I'd own a vette.

A gratifying feeling, and a great story-thanks.

Here's my story:
I was twelve in the fall of 1962. My friends & me were having a game of tackle in back of the local High School. My one friend started jumping up and down, ‘There it is, it’s a Stingray'. We ran down to the street and there, at the stoplight, was a brand new dark-blue split-window coupe. I thought it was a friggin rocket ship.

Long story-short: I had my 1st Corvette at 18, a '65 stingray coupe.

I could not agree with you more. Nice story.

I also like the analogy of traveling "in packs."

Thats a great story. I will soon know the feeling. I've always known that one day I would own a new vette and have spoke about them several times throughtout the years. I am now 32 and have an 08' Silver vert/3LT/Z51/846/MX0 (will be my first) on order awaiting delivery.
