If you want to save some $$ go used with the 08 out now I'm sure you get get a pretty good discount on any used. Take your sweet time if going used there are a lot of Vettes out there. If you decide to go new consider one with the HUD you won't regret it. Good luck!

get at least the 2lt, the power passenger seat and side airbags are worth the pennies difference.

it just depends on how much you have to spend.. you can prob get a new '07 within grand of a used one and get a better warranty than '05 or '06.. I have 1lt and havent missed any options included with 2lt or 3lt packages except two-tone interior.. it all depends on your budget.. hope you have a fun buying experience

There should be some 06's with under 6000 miles for under $38000 with the 1LT or maybe even a 2LT.

I picked up a used 06 a6 LMB 1LT with a few extras with under 4500miles for around $38,500 back Jan of this year.

Unless you plan to keep the car forever, NEVER buy new!

I'm sure you're about to get a buttload of opinions here so does it really matter what everyone else thinks?

Assuming that the size of your checkbook plays into the decision here somewhere?? Who cares what everyone else thinks . . get what you want!

And then enjoy the heck out of it !

With people asking how long they can drive the car past 0% oil life remaining and being able to do donuts and spin the tires for more than 100 ft. etc., I'll pass on buying a used sports car.

I just made that decision myself yesterday. I was looking for a 2005 LeMans Blue coupe w auto trans. The prices I was getting were $38k and up, and most of those cars weren't very well equipped. $38k was the lowest with the LT3 option and that car was in N Dakota (I live in Oregon) and was a PEP car. I figured the trip to N Dakota would cost $700 or more and I'd have to buy chrome wheels. The mileage on that car was about 15k. In my country-wide search I found a lot of high mileage 05s out there, 20k & up, so I think a lot of them are lease returns.

I work for a dealer and he gave me GMS less advertising for a 2007 LeMans Blue LT2 Z51 coupe with chrome wheels. The only option I really wanted out of the LT3 package was the HUD. I decided I could live without the HUD and have a brand new car. I'm sure I'm going to miss the HUD but I've got a pristine 2007 Corvette. This is my first new car since I bought my 1986 Z28 Camaro, which I still have. I think I'll have it for a long, long time!

I paid 44K for my new '07 z51, 1lt coupe with chrome wheels. It stickered for 48,540... that was April 1st. I can't see why you couldn't get a new 07 3lt for close to 45k right now.. possibly a new 08 1lt base coupe for the same $$ .. with the budget you have to work with you will have no problem getting what you want .. educate yourself by shopping around online, dig for inventories and print out prices from Edmunds.com.. know your stuff and let the dealer know it and you will have the edge and get the best deal...
