Default 2008 interior question...

I have seen the dash "surround" that is CF and leather (seen in the pics below), my question is this, what do the dash "pods" look like, are they still a metallic grey as in previous years, or do they somehow "match" the new surround? Anyone got a pic?

Thanks, Shawn

they are much darker now and pretty much match the dash pad kinda ebony. I have gene getting me the console trim, then I'll change the pods.
Here is a pic you can see them.

I'm glad you asked, bc I was thinking that I'm the only one who noticed that the "pods" and the new center trim do not match. I think that GM did a half-*** job on this detail. The pods should match the center trim, like it does on the 05s,06s, and 07s...Instead now it looks like they came from two seperate trim models. As soon as I get my 2008, I'll be changing out the center trim and pods to either body colored set or maybe even a previous years silvery plastic.

I'm not a fan of GMs lame attempt to please the leather lovers, but its easy enough to correct...

I disagree. I like the look of the darker pods. What if GM designed it that way in the first place? I think we are just used to having them match....

And the steering wheel trim is different yet. Although improved, the interior is mix and match (with very little match). This has to be the worst attention to detail I've ever seen in the Vette's interior. Come on GM, you can do better.

They are darker to coordinate with the new surround but unfortunately they do not match.

I'm really really really trying to like the new console, but it looks too much like a cheesy aftermarket piece, especially since there is nothing else that matches - I wish GM would offer a choice of console and pod finish, maybe polished aluminum, or body colored, or gloss black, or even just plain flat black, I'd take any of those over fake carbon fibr....

...but who cares, I'm still in love with this car...

I have not seen in person, but I can live with the dash pods. Its the steering wheel aluminum color thats gonna have to go. Hopefully some aftermarket supplier will come up with a pattern match and make up some replacement parts..

Do all the new center pods have the carbon fiber look or is that an option you have to specify?

The look you see there is the new standard surround (replaces the painted silver). The 4LT package has a different surround.
