I'm getting ready to tint my car. I went to Earmark to choose tint type since they are supposed to do good work. They were all really nice guys and they let me go into the back and talk with the installers while they were working. One of the guys was tinting a Lexus IS250 and the dude was all over the back of the car. He had his hands and arms all over the top of the trunk and he was constantly leaning up against the rear bumper and back trunk area. I can't remember if he had a belt buckle, or a metal button or something...
I'm pretty **** about my car and I would find what he was doing as unacceptable to my car. Not only that, but I've heard several horror stories about tinters scratching the rear fascia while tinting the hatch.
So I figured okay, I'll just tape off the whole back end. I told a friend that I was gonna tape it and he said that the installer might get offended and/or be less careful.
What do you think? Should I tape it off or just trust them to take care of my baby?
go somewhere else. I see you are in the Dallas area... call James at solartech. He does mobile installs and has been in business for atleast 10 years (that's how long he's been tinting my cars). He is great, owns his own business and does tint for the local dealers here on the south side.
