08 vs 07 - Performance ???
I'd love to see Ranger get in an 08' Mn6 Z51 NPP at the strip!
wonder what he has to say about the 08's?

If the 08 really has 50 more rwhp, it should be able to do 11.6 in the 1/4 mile. I'll believe it when I see it.

This car is at least 35-41 bhp stronger than its stock predecessors, and you will definitely feel that.
The quarter mile times to me are somewhat important, but are not the be all and end all to me.
If the car does not put up 11s right away, it will certainly not be because the power is not there.
It may take people a while to get into the 11s on a drag strip, and 11.6 is a tall order, but the big question to me had been would the car make the power that GM said it would make. That question has been answered with a big exclamation point.
If torque management intervenes and delays the time that we start to see 11s, then its just a matter of time before someone learns to drive around it or simply has it programmed out.
If traction becomes an issue then its just a matter of time before someone puts a set of drag radials on.
I still consider that stock albeit not bone stock, but it may be unrealistic to expect these cars to do well on street tires.
But the bottom line is, the car has the power GM says it has and its just a matter of time before someone puts the car into the 11s. Completely showroom bone stock really does not matter so much to me because of the computer nannies and the potential traction issues. Just does the car have the power, and it most certainly does.
I mentioned before that the quarter mile times aren't the be all and end all to me, because I think about how useful and extra 35-41 BHP would be on a road course. What I could do with that going down the straights...

I think the '08 is fantastic. But I suspect most of us can't use all the HP we have now
. But there are a few of you out there who always want more and I don't blame you. Too much is never enough! Whatever you have, enjoy...

"Right off the dealer lot, no breakin yet. Dyno done at LG motorsports.

The LS3 looks like a winner."
LS2s usually dyno 340 to 350 hp at the wheels.
