I don't know how many people saw this video already but I can't believe the garbage they are talking. Someone please calm me down. I never saw this before but this guy has no clue what he is talking about. And one more thing who let him drive that car when they were doing the drag race, he shoulb be driving his countr's car and someone should waste his ***. Sorry for the words but I'm just really pissed about what they said about the car.

That superior attitude helps to explain why we dumped their tea in the water - "the colonies"! It is great sport to beat up on things American in some circles - with no opportunity for a rebuttal. Oh well, to each his own. For me, I'll just count the Super Powers and move on - one ,???????!!!!!

i didn't see anything wrong with the video. remember, it's just their opinion(s), each of us have our own bias.

compare their opinions to real world accolades, awards, results, and industry responses.

it appears to be an '05 z51 (notice the steering wheel and the rotors).

hah, the jab about leaf springs, i wonder if he even stuck his head under the car. i wonder if he knows about transverse leaf springs.

the part about the flimsy rear panel is true.

even though the kid panned it, initially, he seems to have changed his tune a bit in the end.

I just watched the video. They'er jealous. America is the only country that can produce 30 thousand cars with that much power and overall performance for the price. I wonder how many of the other exoctics are daily drivers. Next, they will want to compare a Harley with a Kowasaki.
Corvette rules, and the Z06 kills.

Well, that's history! C6 Corvette's Have proven themselves time & again against Porsche 911's & Aston Martins. That's a fact! What's this little Fa**ot smokin'? Sorry about his sissy leg hurting when he tries to push in that big ol' manly Clutch & well that Turn Signal difficulty he had was such a pity.

Seriously, does this Guy realize what he really looks & sounds like? I won't say but you know what I'm talkin' about.

This vid has been discussed many times on this forum. There are even heated comments on youtube. Heck, I know the vid w/o even clicking on the link in the post. I also don't find anything wrong with them voicing their opinions. They typically make off the wall comments for the sake of comedy. It actually makes their show a whole lot more interesting than say "Motorweek" here in the U.S. The part that I did have a problem with was that "drag race". It was obviously staged. There is another thread somewhere on this forum that shows the recorded times of each of the cars and everyone knows the Vette will kill that NSX as well as the others.

Calm down, it's just a video. It's been around for awhile and I got a good laugh from it.

Top Gear loved the Z06. This kid is a nationalist not an objective reviewer.

It's in off topic and I was the main participant. No way an NSX beats a vette in a drag race, no way. Especially not by about three car lengths as it did in that video.

well, their snotty 'tude is the real problem. They had to admit the car was fast but the guy had to dis the rear suspension one more time. He might check into the composition and characteristics of that 'medieval' leaf spring. It's not of an oxcart for sure.

Performance is what counts and the car delivered. A Z06 would have toasted their crumpets.

Not all their comments were off base either. The plastic interior is not something to rave about. It's adequate and keeps the price low. The clutch? Well, GM put a new transmission in the car after all for 08 and man oh man all the posts about clutch pedal feel and sticking to the floor etc.

Who wants to stand up and say the C6 clutch is well engineered ?

But no car is perfect. For the money the C6 delivers better performance than any of these effeminate so called competitors.

And what the heck was that so called British car? How many of those did they produce? Six or was it eight? And what does it cost?

All these people , if they existed at all, would be speaking German if my father and hundreds of thousands of other young men had not sacrificed for their country. Sometimes the brits tick me off with their attitude but they are us and we are them in many ways. We owe em for so much positive in our culture and language.

I think some of you completely missed what was being said, and how they were saying it?
Top Gear is a great show and a lot of fun, they have a blast wringing the c..p out of the cars, with tongue firmly planted in cheek! I think that perhaps some of you are a bit thin-skinned and were completely oblivious to the fact that they were putting it on? Also, did you not catch the beginning where he set the context of the piece? He said that Chevrolet is trying to sell left hand drive Vettes in the UK for 40000 pounds (non Z06)! That's $810000 US plus taxes kids! How many Americans would buy a base Vette if it cost $81K and you had to sit on the wrong side? Have you ever driven British secondary roads in even a small car? I couldn't imagine in something as wide as a Vette, never mind from the wrong side!
As for the rest of the comments, the Z51 does ride extremely hard on anything but glass smooth roads, the plastic interior has always looked to me like it came from a mid nineties Pontiac Grand Prix, and they don't shift like a S2000!
As for the leaf spring, do you think Chevy went that way because it represents the pinnacle in IRS technology? Can you say reduced manufacturing costs?
Am I going to buy one anyway? Damn right!
Same reason I bought my '05 Mustang GT, dirty big fun for the price. At $40K, I'll live with the interior, and other deficiencies, but please don't ask me to pay $81K and tell the world that it's perfect.
