Default Confused..........

I might not be in the right community, but I have a question about creating a post containing pictures. Some posts refer to a link to show their pictures, while others show the pictures in the post itself. How do I insert images right in the post itself?

Thanks

[img]the url of the image[/img

Close the bracket on the end; the example is left open so you can see the code. Also, the image needs to be hosted online, it can't be straight off your computer.

sign up at www.photobucket.com
put your pictures there
copy the picture "url" (whatever that stands for!) and then come here, open a thread, post whatever, open that box w/the mountains and sun, then paste the "url" of the picture in it,then hit ok,or whatever it says. Then hit submit reply on the bottom, and you're done.

Also, once you think you have figured it out, there's a testing area in the Forums pull down menu under "help and feedback - testing". You can try it out there.

You have to pay to be a supporting member before you can post pics directly in your post from your harddrive.

Default Picture size?

Do you have to re-size pictures? How many pixels are best?

tinypic.com doesn't require you to sign up or anything and it's very fast. That's the one I use. Easy to upload, easy to use.

Default Still a little confused

When I tested it, the URL shows up in the thread (which takes you to photobucket), but I prefer to have the pics shown in the post? Any ideas?

Did you precede the URL with ?

I just posted a reply to one of your test threads. You didn't precede the URL with . I made those changes and the picture now shows up. Take a look:

In your photobucket album, click on the img code line below a picture, this copies it, then go to your post and right click/paste or ctrl v keyboard. Try that

And just because you asked so nicely, these types of threads frequently get moved by the mods to the Help section. There's also a testing section.

You're doing it right,it's something that's been happening to me too since the re tool of the forum.Try copying the address in the first box under the picture on photo bucket, see if that works to open the picture

If you copy the photobucket link that says "URL Link" you will get the address in the post and a link to the photobucket site. If you copy the photobucket link that says "IMG Code" you will get the image directly in the post.
