I've searched dilligently and found nothing so far. I have an escort 9500i radar detector (also have a V1, so no flames please). I got the hard wired cable. On my C5, it was an easy connection for the V1. But on the C6 they don't seem to make it easy.
Where should I splice in for ground and switched power?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I also appreciate the post from kawal showing how to connect to the mirror power, but had hoped to use the cable I have.
You can run a telephone cord down the A pillar and over to the passenger side footwell fuse box. Get an "add a circuit" type insert for a fuse position, add a ground, and go.

"add a circuit"??? Can you explain? I can envision it, but have no idea where to get such a beast.
The invisacord is a small cable made to plug into the power supplied to the mirror and connect directly to your radar connector. It works well and is easy to install since it connects to the mirror connector.
Your hard wire cord for Escort has a alarm display and mute button that you can locate anywhere that you feel is convenient. I mounted mine to the side of the buttons that control the HUD on my Z06 with double sided tape.
The wires were inserted into the header cover just above the mirror and run down the driver A pillar. Then routed behind the dash and through seam by the HUD buttons for the control. The power and ground was accessed from the fuse panel in the passenger foot well with an add-a-fuse circuit and routed across the console to connect with the Escort hard wire under the dash on the drivers side.
I should explain my intentions. I ordered the hard-wire kit from Escort and have it in hand. I don't want to order another kit unless I absolutely have to. So I was hoping to find out what wire to tap into on by the fuse panel under the passenger foot panel.
I'm tempted to just cut into the hard-wire kit I have and make my own cord to connect to the rear-view-mirror cords as explained by kawal in his post. I'm handy with a soldering iron, but was just hoping to use what I have already.
I did a little search and the add-a-circuit from littlefuse might be the answer. But if I can't find it locally I'll have to order it and at that point I might as well just buy the invisa-cord (spelling?).

I found it at Advance auto. Autozone probably has it , too.
Thanks Dave, I couldn't find it at Autozone. In the end, I went over to Radio Shack and picked up a power tap (little piece of metal that goes around the fuse leg). That was a major pain to install, but finally got it in. I sure liked the wiring harness on the C5 beter. If I remember right, there was a wire sticking out just for additional circuits.
For future reference, Invisicord is a website that sells a cable for detectors. If you mount the detector on the sunshade post or on the mirror, you can get an Invisicord to plug into the power adapter behind the mirror.

I can understand why folks like Invisicord; it makes for a very clean install. But if you're going to use a remote display like I did, you have to run wires right past the fuse block anyway so I think an Add-A-Circuit is the way to go:
If you're using a V1 obtain power and ground from the glove box light wire, mount your splitter for the concealed display on the ledge above the glove box and the display in the ashtray. This is a "timed" circuit so it shuts off after 20 mins.
