Default Corvette Parade Flags

I was going to buy a set of parade flags for the Vert, but couldn't get past the "drill hole" part of the instructions. There is no way I am going to drill holes in my Vette! I had these small clamps at home and got the idea to attach some flags to them. I had them in three parades this year, and they seem to work just fine. I used them on the July 1st parade and by July 4th parade another club member had made a set for himself(the ultimate compliment I guess). I have $4 invested in these vs about $30 for the ones I was going to buy. Here are a few pics.

Mike

Have you seen the ones made by Flag Caddie? They sell them at Bloomington Gold and on their website. I have them for my C5 and C6; very easy install/remove and no drilling required. Specific ones for coupes and convertibles.

I was at Bloomington Gold and did not see them. How much were they? Got any pictures?

My Mistake!! After my post I went to their website and checked the installation for a C6 convert and see they do require holes to be drilled. That was not the case on the C5 converts. I'm with you on the "no drill" idea...especially for something that is used quite rarely.

The Vert does require "drillling," but you are only drilling a small hole through the bottom plastic cover of the top clips on the front windshield. See the pics here: http://www.flagcaddie.com/Instructio...DrillingC6.htm

I have the ones from flag caddie and yes--I drilled the holes. It takes one tiny hole through each for the screw to pass through. You can't see them unless you lean over and look up through the roof lock area, and then the hole looks stock. I'm glad you like your clamps, but I much prefer my holes over those large blue clamps.

You're not adding in for the quick clamps. Unless you have them laying around the garage, they are about $20 each. So, to be fair, your flag holders would really be about $44 vs. 32.70 for the Flag Caddies. Your actually down a few beers.

Still, glad they work for you.

Yes I did have the clamps here. They actually cost $18. That still would have put me in the plus column.
