I have a C6 that I have owned for over a year. To date the car has been issue free. Within the last month or so, I have been noticing a significant glare in the HUD display. At some points the glare is so bad it is distracting me from driving. Now it seems that I get a glare at almost every direction I travel. I have never noticed this before so I am convinced that something must have changed with the HUD. Is it possible that it could have shifted and now is reflecting the sun while traveling different directions. At one point while driving home today, the entire HUD display was surrounded by a reflection from the sun. At other times, it seems like I am looking through a tunnel while driving because the sunlight is reflecting within the unit. Today I also noticed a pick dot in the display. Again I have never experienced these issues in the year that I had owned the car. Has anybody experienced this problem?
The glare seems to be independent of the brightness of the HUD. Even when I turn it all the way down, the reflection from the sun still causes the HUD to diplay (very faint but you can still see it).

Are you saying the glare is coming from the HUD and blocking your view in that area of the windshield where the HUD display is or is the glare blocking the rest of the windshield? If so, have you cleaned the dash or treated it with something?
I am assuming that you aren't wearing polarized sunglasses while looking at this problem? If you are, that could be your issue right there.
My bet is that there was a slight defect in the polishing of the laminate layer used in making the "HUD" windshield. The "HUD" windshield is the same as all the others, but they spend more effort in polishing the laminate so as to allow the image to reflect better on the glass. There could be some kind of internal problem that you just can't see until light hits it just right.
Couple of choices - you can make a warranty claim, but they will probably deny it being so hard to prove there is an issue inside the glass. If you have insurance coverage with a $0 deductible on glass, you could find a "crack" in the windshield, thereby getting a new one installed. Or, you can live with it.
Perhaps because it is July (sun at its highest point in the sky which can cause refection)? This is my 2nd Vette with HUD and every summer I notice more glare/reflection than the rest of the year...
