I read that the 2008 C6 with the auto and 2.73 performance axle ratio will outperform the manual on a 0-60 launch. Can anybody verify this ?
According to those slides Conti had the auto will do 0-60 in 4.3 while manual was 4.0.. According the the dyno numbers in other threads the manual was actually putting more HP at the wheels, this would confirm those numbers that the manual was indeed faster.

Not from what I was told. The auto is heavier and while no one will be able to shift faster than the automatic the driveline loss is more significant in the auto on two otherwise equal cars.
I've read various things about the new A6...is it a new, but similar, design, or is it just a regeared and chipped version of the current A6 that produces better performance? If its the latter, is there going to be an "upgrade" kit?
lol i agree 2.73's being performance gears, hell when i was younger in our 5.0 mustangs those were the FIRST things we tossed for 3.73's or 4.10's.
The 2.56 is a strong gear ratio in the A6 C6 and the 2.73's will be even stronger! You are looking at the final ratio when you should be looking at the ratio for each gear (not the overdrive gears).

I have read the same thing also. The only difference is that the A6 had paddle shifters and they were using this information to support the new shift points in the new 2008 transmission.
