I was told that my order number for my 08 vette is MDRRNM. Does that have any significance or is it meaningless. Does it even look like an order number. I think I have heard of others that had like 7,8 or 9 digits. Just wondering if anyone has any clue?
No, I think they've been 6 characters for the last few years. The last order no. I had 3 years ago was 6 characters, all letters of the alphabet. Yours looks okay.
Your dealer, or anyone else with access to the GM VOMS, can use that order no. to look up the status of your order. The order no. itself has no special significance.
It looks like a good number, but it's pretty meaningless. What's important is the "event code" in GM's ordering system. There is a sequence of numbers like 3000, 3100 etc (actually starts at 2000, I think). Those are the numbers that tell you where your order stands in the system.
Somebody posted them, and what they mean about a month ago. You might do a search.
EDIT - Found them...
