I have an 06 c6 with the nav radio cannot listen to mp3 cd's is the 07 or even the 08 play mp3? I'm not interested in ipods jacks just want to make a mp3 cd and enjoy I like the factory radio just don't want to go aftermarket!
There's a well-known software update for 2005s with nav that allows them to play MP3s but I thought all 2006s were MP3-compatible. Do you have a very early production 2006?
The software update is very easy to perform; I did mine myself (in my 2005) after downloading the files onto 2 CD-Rs. If you're absolutely sure that your 2006 doesn't play MP3s, drop me a line and I'll be glad to send you the CD-Rs and instructions; the whole process just takes a few minutes and you can do it yourself. The catch is that if your car already has the updated software (which I thought all 2006s did), doing the download could render your head unit useless.
In the DVD for the 006 Corvette (the one that comes with the car) it says that the Nav supports MP3s. I have not tried it in my unit yet, but I everything I have heard suggests it works.
Try burning a CD at low speed (8x or so) with songs only in the root. Make sure the filenames are no longer than 22 characters long and have no special characters. See if that works.

Exactly. There is a firmware update for the radio that can be installed as indicated (I did my own as well on my 2005 and now I can play MP3 discs). While a little unnerving, the install is easy and takes about 15 minutes.
My 06 was built in Nov 05 and plays mp3's. When was yours built? Also as stated above it won't play any mp3 with a song title with more than 22 characters, including spaces.

heres another thing, I have burnt a lot of cdr's and mp3s. usually I get into it, do some and then stop for awhile, so its usually a learning curve when going back again.
I find that speed makes no difference, I burn with nero and what makes the biggest difference is a decent dvd writer. I had one that was a couple of years old and apparently it went bad, the cdr's were not playing no matter what in my cars, bought a new dvd writer and they play perfectly no matter how I do them.
First try to burn slower, if that doesn't work, get a new one, they are only like 35 dollars.
M 06 c6 was built in may of 06 and will not play mp3"s I tried downloading the files off the forum but no luck Every time I installed the program on the cd inserted into the nav slot nothing was happing. I'm not sure if i'm installing it correctly or what. I would appreciate the help on it! Computers and me really don't mix but wrenches on a car work just fine.
