Vararam Installed
Good morning all, Thursday I received my Vararam intake and TB Spacer from the sale by RPIDesigns.
The total install took about 2 hours...I cut the shroud in the car (with no problems!
). I do notice a nice change in the sound of the car...the funny thing is certain times while accelerating I hear a slight turbine like sound...reminds me of my last car...a Mazda RX-8 (Rotary engine). During the first 40 miles or so, I heard slight pinging..but after that it went away. I can feel a nice change in performance...it pulls a lot more in all of the gears. Quality wise, it was nice..my only gripe was one of the seals for the one half of the intake wasn't flush...it was attached so part of the seal was just hanging off the edge...nothing major...I just pulled the seal off that portion and reattached it. I really liked it only taking 2 hours, compared to my 7-8 hour install for an intake on my RX-8.
I think the spacer and intake itself is well worth it...it adds a nice sound to the car...and also adds a bit of performance as well.

I noticed a small gain with my RX-8's Mazdaspeed Intake...but with this...I notice a lot more gain than my RX-8 got...I'm guessing it's true...the bigger the engine...the better the gains of bolt ons.
