We are getting ready to trade our C5 Vert for either a 07 or 08 coupe.

For those that have a C6, how hard is it to take the tops off?

Can a average frame woman (5' 6" and 150 pounds) remove the tops own her own? or Is is a two person job?

Our local dealer does not have any Vetts in stock......so we can not drive down to the dealership and give it a try.

I remove the top on my own but my wife would never even consider trying it. Maybe it can be done but a dropped top would really s#$k

I don't have any problem with it but there's no way my wife could do it.

Not a problem. I'm 5' 7", so I don't have a long reach. The top is not heavy, just awkward. With some practice, she'll become a pro.

Cautions:
1) the top will act like a sail in the wind after you raise it
from the frame.
2) if the car is outside in the sun for any length of time, the top WILL be hot.

I am sure others can add some more cautions.

That pretty much sums it up...after a few tries ,you should be ok.

I'm 5'9" 145 lbs and I have no problems lifting the roof, so I think you'll be ok.

The first couple times it might feel awkward lifting but after that you get the hang of it.

Transparent top is much lighter than colored top.
Transparent top gets really HOT, so much it can burn your hands...
When the sun is really beating down, I go with the solid top, cooler dyas the transparent.

She won't take the top off. Get a vert then the top will be down in a flash.
