A steak fell under the seat in my mom's C6 and when we got back from a week long vacation she got in the car to pull it out of the garage and yuck . We have tried many different things to get the smell out and they haven't done much. Any suggestions?!

edit:
A1 sauce = Get long tongs, put meat in center counsole, close console cover, roll up windows , 165 mph for 4 minutes-flip then 175mph 3 minutes.
Your car will now smell like a steak joint, pass the A-1

It's probably going to require a full shampoo of the interior carpets. You could try putting some baking soda boxes under the seats and see if that absorbs some of the odor.
The first question I have is, how does a steak fall under the seat? Thats like saying my sock fell under the couch. It's not like it can roll under there. it would have to be placed under the seat.
Hmm, you might talk with a dealer service department. They have to deodorize cars before they can sell them, smokers, trashed vehicles etc. They might have something that could work.
Not sure about this one but i think u can rent a small Ozone machine and put it in the car overnight, then u need to open the windows for a few hours b4 actually getting in the car for a ride.Heard it takes out any odors. Maybe some members here know more about this machine than me. I heard it works. Check it out.
How can anything get under these seats? There must be less than a half of an inch between all of the mechanicals and the floor.
I don't know but this is the second time that it has happened, last time it was milk and the contain er broke. Maybe it was just behind the seat, like I said before I was not there when it happened or when it was found.
This reminds me of the Seinfeld episode about the mutant B.O
But seriously,
The problem is if the grease/juices from the steak actually got UNDER the carpet, then it could have seeped into all kinds of cracks and crevices and set up shop there.
Basically, until all traces of the source of the odor is gone, nothing will cure it.
Someone has the Puke Post on here ealier and im going to put the same information that i gave them....
Try a product called microban its an industrial cleaner anti bacterial disinfectant. Its nasty to handle (dangerous to get on you or breath until it is dry) but will usually get most smells out.
I'd make sure to test somewhere inconspicuous to make sure it doesn’t fade your carpet. I have used this on a couch and other fabrics and it has never faded anything but I wouldn’t take a chance without testing.
Just to a search for microban on the internet and Just use a small spray bottle and follow the directions on the bottle.
here is a link to a site about it as well. http://www.baneclene.com/catalog/microban.html
Some information about it and you can order from that site but you can search more and probally save a few bucks.
and No i dont work for any company related to this product or anyone that sells it but I have had very good experience with it in the past.
