I've got an appointment next week to tint my new vette. I was planning on doing 20%, but the tint brand I want only offers 15% in black closest to 20. I told him I'd do 15%, but I'd love to see some of your C6's with 20% or less.

dumb question but are the windows darker with a lower % #and if so couldn't you go darker on the back and lighter on the sides?

 

The bigger the number, the more light is allowed to come through. So, the smaller the number, the darker the tint.

As for darker tint in the back...this is very popular, but my opinion is that it makes the back of the car look heavier and upsets the balance. However, I am pretty sure I am the ONLY person who feels this way as it seems everyone is in competition to see how dark they can get the back window.

35% sides and 10% rear. 34% is legal limit in Texas for the side.

 

Bummer for us in Texas. I had 5% on the side and back in Louisiana back in the day. I thought I was famous....or infamous.

 

UTVOL06, legal limit in GA is 32% on side and rear windows.

 

I had 35% (max legal in GA AFAIK) put on mine a few weeks ago, and I wouldn't want them any darker myself.

 

15% i love it. perfect balance between being super dark but still driveable. ive had 5 on other cars and it was a little scary at night.

I'll be doing 15% Black Lumar tint then. Should make my Victory Red really Pop.
