Help me out here... I love these wheels and will keep them at least as long as these tires last... but has anyone ever asked you "is that the color of your wheels, or is that just brake dust?"

Nope, no one has ever asked me that actually.
It is still key to keep them clean though, while they hide brake dust/dirt better than say the silver wheels they do still look MUCH better when the grey metallic can really shine.
Haha... this is funny... I wanted the comp grey wheels, but I have found if I let my silver wheels get dirty, I get the same thing for free!!
But still jealous... your's will look 1000% better than my "free" grey rims.
hahaha, thought the exact same thing this morning before driving to work when i took a look at my brake dust covered wheels...but maybe when my tires wear out I'll look around for a set of comp greys myself.
A friend of mine has an 07 Audi A4 and the first time I saw his car I thought it had grey rims on it also, until I looked closely and saw it was brake dust! One time when him and his wife were over for a BBQ, I snuck out front and spent 5 minutes with a bucket and sponge and cleaned them for him!
The competition grey wheels on the C6 look very nice though, it honestly does not look like brake dust to me, not up close.
Never been asked that only told how great they looked. One person wanted to know if it was a special edition vette because of the different color (comp gray) wheels. Obviuosly he was ignorant like those that think they are dirty.
Never, and they do look great with my black coupe. A benefit is that they hide dust very well and still look good. Around here, the car gets dusty in 13 seconds--car duster or QD for that; wheels, only need cleaning infrequently between washes.
I have never had a person ask me that about my '06. However many have asked if they were aftermarket and how cool they looked. I like dthem so much I have them on my new '08.
Man the new 08 split spoke ones are sharp looking. I think you will like them if you get them. I had one non car guy ask if they were dirty and all I did was at him.

Never been asked that. But, with the stock Z51 pads they do get coated pretty quick. Being ever the procrastinator, I had read about Rejex about a year or so ago on this forum. About a month ago my neighbor gave me a spare bottle and it makes a HUGE difference in both how much collects and how easily it washes off. Love the wheels.
