Default Visor mount question for Radar detector

I have tried the mirror mount but the adhesive failed quickly as my car is my DD. I have to park it outside. Forum members have suggested using epoxy, but I can't bring myself to do that. I have been using the suction cups for over a year and am tired of the rattle and when it falls off, it unplugs the invisicord which is obviously irritating. O. K. now my dumb question: everyone here seems to like the visor mount. But, what happens when you need to use the visor? Doesn't it block the rear detection?. Also, can a windshield shade be placed? Thanks for any feedback

With a V1 and a Great Lakes mount I can use the visor and a sun shade. The visor hits the V1 about half-way between straight down and touching the windshield, but it is usable in that position for me. It does physically block the display and rear antenna, but not being metal, I don't think the visor blocks the radar signal. I tried that other visor mount, and the visor hit it when straight down, not usable so I sent it back.

Thanks. Someone should make a mirror mount that hooks to the mirror without glue...

I ran across this mirror mount, but have not had the time to find out if it can be adapted to a C6 or if they are planning to make one for the C6.
