Well, I took the plunge and ordered a 2008 Crystal Red, 1lt, Auto this afternoon from Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, TX. Grapevine has a pretty good allocation so hopefully it won't take too long. The exact car I wanted was actaully at Bankston in Dallas (the only one in the Nation), but they would not honor supplier pricing.

Let's GO GM!!!!!

Well, as of right now, 1lt's are on national constraint. There are zero for the country. That could change tomorrow, when the constraint list comes out, though. But if not, you may have to wait awhile, or jump up to a 2LT.

Congratulations!

I change my mind every week it seems, but my favorite choice of this week if I were ordering a new 08 and if I lived in the US (we can't get 1LT cars up here, our base model is equipped with all the 3LT stuff), would be a Crystal Red 1LT coupe, automatic with 2.73s, transparent roof and the base wheels.

Did you order the 2.73 axle ratio for yours? It's definitely $395 well spent!

Good Luck. Hopefully the 1lt constraint will be lifted and you'll get your new ride in relativley short order. Cross those fingers and toes.

Let us know how the dealer follows through once you get the car. If I buy locally, Classic is my choice, and would appreciate the feedback, thanks.

I wouldn't worry about that, the constraints change every week, so chances are good that the next time they announce the next round of constraints (which is pretty soon I think) you'll be free and clear and everything you want will be ok. It's all good!

That's funny you mentioned Bankston in Dallas. They had the exact '07 coupe that I wanted back when 0% financing was being offered. They were more worried about lining the cars up in the show room and what I drove to the dealership in than selling a car

They saved me and I ended up with my Vert instead

well I saw where the color is no longer on constraint, just the 1lt package. Maybe next week. Or if my wife digs the cashmere interior, I'll upgrade it to the 2lt.

They took my certificate on mine that I ordered.

BTW update....after showing another forum members picutre of his CR with Cashmere interior, my wife commented how she liked it. So I have changed my order to a 2LT with the Cashmere interior.

Now it is no longer a constraintmobile. Hopefully that will speed things up.
