Three Beeps
Hi Folks,
When I'm putting the convertible top down or up, when I get back in the car, the horn sounds three times. The following are the steps I do.
1. Ignition switch off
2. MN6 in neutral
3. Turn convertible top latch, windows roll down
4. Exit the car, close the door
5. Store top
6. Re-enter the car, close the door, horn sounds three times
Does the car think I've left the fob in the car even if I've exited and closed the door with the key in my pocket?

Although the owner's manual doesn't mention the beep, it does say you should set the parking brake. You didn't include that in your list. If you're not doing it, try setting it and see if that eliminates the beep.

I'm guessing that you stay within the range of the fob sensor in the driver door frame. I don't get the beep, but I don't close my door either. I know if I get out to fill my tank and close the door, I will get the 3 beeps sometimes when I get back in.

As you guessed I'm betting the car still can see the fob's proximity to the vehicle as you are lowering the top and it thinks you left it inside.
If you get out and were to leave the door open it will do this when you get back in and close the door as it doesn't know you left in between.
