My dealer was explaining that they would tend to discourage the NPP option if the person was ordering an automatic. Since the NPP only opens up at 3000 rpm he claims that you don't have the free reving control that a manual gives so that it really never comes into play. What do you say ?
You can get the mild to wild that opens the butterfly with the push of a button, or pull the fuse to keep it open all of the time, if the stomp of a foot isn't making it happen for you.

I'm calling on the dealer - I have the same system as the NPP on my XLR ( with an auto ) and it rocks !! Especially when you play in the manumatic mode - My advise - Find tunnel , put vette into second gear , try hard not to grin like a jackass as you listen to the noise
Well, if you want an automatic and want a nice factory option performance exhaust I'd say go for it. In fact, think about the Z06. You can't get an automatic with that model. However, you can get one with the 436 hp NPP. For the street I'd think the two cars would be very very close, almost identical, in performace unless a person is into heavy duty illegal and dangerous street racing.
When you add NPP to the automatic you get something more than a Z06 can give you. That is very high hp, special exhaust, both in a car with a factory automatic transmission! So really you are getting, if you want an auto, a better car for your purposes than a Z06.
BTW I'd suggest the Z51 option 'cause then your car will be even closer to Z06 performance, with an automatic, and with tens of thousands of dollars still in your pocket.
I guess the dealer doesn't know about Ed's wireless switch for the new exhaust.... Maybe you could show them the following link http://www.nakidparts.com/id25.html

Your dealer is full of Go for the NPP & the Mild2Wild from Nakid Parts. You aren't buying a Saturn for cryin' out loud!
I'm not looking to buy as I already have a C6. I was just curious what the consensus was on the auto with the NPP. I still think it is way overpriced for what it is though.
