Default Great Service

Took my 2005 in for an oil change and the 22,500(?) mile scheduled maintenance. The Corvette tech decided that the differential fluid change that was done a couple of months ago, needed to be done again. These guys are good, he noticed that the rear end was still making the crunching sound(I had given up on ever getting this fixed) and took it upon himself to go ahead and do it again with double the friction goo. This is the same company that volunteered to get me a new SMC roof after I told them that the old gooo'ed one was creaking. I am very pleased with the service advisor Derek Selden and Corvette tech Dave at Sport Chevrolet in Silver Spring Maryland. Next time I need a new Corvette I'm going to try and throw them my business. I have had nightmare service from a much closer Chevy dealer and Sport Chevrolet has earned my patronage. It's nice to make a positive thread as I haven't had much to smile about during this Corvette thing. eddie

Thanks for the tip. Though my 1YO 06 has yet to need service, I will add Sport to the list of options!

Scott Egloff is the man to see there about buying a car. He is the Sport Chevrolet contact that sponsors our club - Corvette Annapolis.

Sport Chevy is where I bought my last two vettes. ('05 and '07) Good people and good treatment and prices ...course I haven't had a need for any service as of yet, but I am told that they have a service tech that specializes only in vettes.

I had a dealer service experience that was truly out of the “Twilight Zone.” Life is too short. Now I take my ’05 to a private shop that takes VERY good care of me. We live in the same area, so thanks for the 411.

BTW, after really looking, when I must have GM work done, I NOW use Jim McKay Chevrolet in Fairfax, VA. They are outstanding! The Service Manager, John Chickering, owns a Vette himself, took great care with me and my SMC roof. Highly recommended.

Just got my '05 back from them for the roof replacement. Koon's gave my the runaround for a roof replacement and based on your posts regarding Sport took it to them and I'll never look back. They looked at the roof and said that they thought it would not separate any further and would be safe to use, but they still decided to order the SMC replacement anyway...no hassle. They spotted a leak at the differential from some prior work by another dealer and decided to fix that as well. Dereks wonderful to deal with and being a Vette owner as well makes things so much easier.

Wouldn't they know less about the Corvette than a Chevrolet dealer?

You are really fortunate to have access to such a user friendly dealership and tech.
