What are the correct wheel torque settings (ft lbs) for the chrome wheels? I did not see this spec in the manual. Only item I saw was correct torquing pattern.
correct me if I am wrong, but aren't you supposed to torque down all 5 in a star pattern at 60 ft/lbs, then redo them to 100 ft/lbs?
That is how the old ones were, as well as the F-body's. I haven't taken delivery of my 08 yet, but Im sure it is the same
Yes, it helps provides equal pressure around the wheel by applying the torque at increments. But overall the general setting is 100 foot lbs. Tire stores all use 100.
Hey, anyone know when that Dale E. movie is going to be on? Can't find a thing about it anywhere.
I always set mine to about 95 lbsft. Anything close is good. The important part is getting them all the same; consistancy is important. Many "warped rotors" are the result of poorly torqued lugs. When my last Vette was new, one was tightened to 50lbs and another was off the chart and needed a breaker bar to take off.
