Default radar detector install question

Can anyone provide a photo of the lower fuse box area passenger side footwell and show the best place to tap in for a radar detector install? I don't want to use the invisicord / mirror setup because I like the remote mute switch display mounted below near the ignition (Escort 8500) so I don't reach up to hit the mute switch. I did it on the C5, but need to know where it is on the C6. Many thanks in advance.

Okay, no response so maybe it's because it's an 8500 and not a V1. Where would you wire the V1 if you did not go to the mirror, or if you did go to the mirror for power, how did you then wire a remote for the V1 if you want one? Thanks

Here's a link to a pic posted by a guy who did the connection for the V1 and its remote. It probably would be the same for your unit.

Here's a link to his writeup:

I plan to use this for my V1 when I finally get my C6 (Build date this week!)

I used the heated seats slot on the fuse box. I purchase a hook up call "add a circuit" at Autozone for a few bucks. The add-a-circuit fits into the fuse socket and has two fuse recepticles. Use one for the original purpose of the socket - heated seats. The second socket has a wire running from it that you can use for power on the dectector. The heated seats socket only has power when the ignition is on.

Thanks for asking the question. I planned on using the heated seats fuse also, so this confirmed that I can.
Now, if I can get by the OnStar box on the windshield where I planned on mounting the detector - - .

I used an Intellicord into the power mirror and this was very clean and looks factory.
Search the forum on Intellicord and there are links to how to install and links for purchase. You will need the C6 Mirror bracket. I got mine from West Coast Corvettes after reviewing this information on this forum.
