I'll try not to be too long. Did sebring and blew out both catalytic converters. Check eng light on and all fluids pretty warm. Motor quit then restarted on turn 16 and ran ok with light on.
Dealer installed new cats, light out, and car now idles like it has a beefed up cam. They messed with it all day today and on the phone with gm and cant figure it out . Did an injector cleanout and went over everything and no codes showing. Help! They are stumped. It runs fine off idle and all readouts are good. Its a stock 06 a6.
A burnt valve could cause a rough idle. A simple compression test will verify that. Improper fuel to air ratio could burn out the cats and burn a valve. If only one valve is burnt you might not notice it off idle. Lets hope it's something simple like a spark plug wire or bad plug. Good luck and keep us posted.
