Default HUD general question

the manual states that HUD supports audio in the street mode.

when I change stations the station displays on the HUD then disappears after a few seconds.

Is this all it does? Help me to see how that is going to help the driver,
I am sure I am missing something?

thanks,
Dave

It tells you what XM/radio station and what CD you're listening to. Sorry it's not sexier!

You can change stations with the steering wheel buttons and never take your eyes off the road. That's pretty much it. I think it helps.

It is nice when you use the channel up/down or preset buttons on the steering wheel and can verify what station was just selected. Turn signal and high beam indicators also display on the HUD. If you have factory navigation, directions will appear on the HUD. Any warnings will display as well. All of this is in addition to mph and tach.

Makes sense to me... I wouldn't want radio station information displayed constantly - would be a huge distraction. Just momentary feedback when a change is made. GM got it right...

ok,
thanks everyone. Good answers and a reminder I need to use my steering wheel controls more. I guess I am still learning the 'nav thing' now and need to remember to move my hand to the small buttons on the s.wheel

cheers
