DMV Clout
While in the DMV parking lot squatting down taking off my old plate, a guy walked up behind me and said "I thought I left my new Vette at home"
and strikes up a conversation about my car. He was friendly enough, but I was wondering what he was up to because he stuck right along side of me as I made my way across the lot, up the walk, and right through the doors into the DMV.
I headed to the very long line under the sign "START HERE" when he motions for me to follow him. He leans towards me and says "what do your plates say?"
He said to wait there and then walked behind the counter and proceeded to go through paperwork. For the first time I noticed he had a name tag saying "supervisor."
My eyes are glued to this guy now, especially when I looked around the place at the dozens and dozens of people standing in long lines. Then he motions with his finger for me to come over to the counter. He asks for my paperwork, looks at it, then hands it to a lady clerk and tells her that my plates are on top of the stack and that I'm "good to go." He then smiled and walked away. I was in/out in about 5 minutes

I'm guessing the the SUPERVISOR was supervising and not clerking. So he wasn't slowing down the regular procession. The Supervisor probably guessed that "Jazz Vett" had waited 3 months, and that was enough......glad I could help
Employees were jerks.
You would wait a couple of hours; clerk then noticed you needed a notary stamp; that sent you back to the very end of the line.
Miserable. Fortunately things have changed.
Employees are nicer too.
