Wheels - 1pc vs 3pc Question
Dad's got an 06 C6 Vert and is looking for some new wheels ...
To him, his main concern is quality and service, price is secondary.
I have shown him the wheels that would look good on his Tripple Black car ... but cannot convince him the 1pc and 3pc wheels are basically the same quality if they are made right ... cause he thinks I know nothing about wheels (which might be true
)At the moment we are looking at the following wheels ... all of similar design:
CCW 505A
HRE 597
ForgeLine SP3P
The key difference is that the CCW's are 1pc, the HRE's and ForgeLines are 3pc ...
So ... what is the major difference between the 2 styles of manufacturing? I know the CCW's are the lowest cost, but is there something that makes a 3pc wheel better?
I personally think that if he goes 3pc, it should be ForgeLine cause they are in Ohio, might as well support a business in our home state ... but HRE has "market class" which my dad likes ... all his car buddies drool over HRE's ...
So help me out ... so I can help him make the right decision ...
There are of course visual differences which are personal preferences. Bolts vs. not having any; also painted centers are easier on a 3pc than 1pc due to the fact you can take them out.
As far as quality and customer service...don't think I have to say much. Ask around!

For 3 piece wheels, you just need to replace the damage pieces. For 1 piece, you will have to replace the whole wheel.
Also, 3 piece wheels alow you to go with diff center easier.
