Oh I almost forgot to mention. The Drive spoke no english. Gave me a false ID and INS card and the CHP who came to the scene treated me like a CRIMINAL and DIDNT even SITE the guy who HIT ME! Nor did he run the guys ID or Ins to see if it was even valid.

Put a complaint in at the CHP office, you may be able to get it repaired without it affecting your insurance.

Dont worry thats already in the works. My mom has been in Insurance Defense for over35 years, and I used to be in law enforcement. This officer is goin down. I think he treated me the way he did because he sees this brand new corvette and a 24 yr old male gets out.

I also wanted to add i posted this on the so-cal section as well, but im looking for a shop thats open today so i can at least get my baby checked out. I think there is some possible frame damage and I wanna know before i go driving 8 hours back home. So if anyone in the San Diego area knows of or runs a shop please let me know!

Only in the land of fruits and nuts does a driver not get cited for that rear ending! Maybe it's not illegal to "rear end" someone in CA? In CT it's an AUTOMATIC citation no questions asked! This political correctness crap has run amok! Just imagine what's next if the "Wicked Witch" wins the white house! As a 20 year LEO this kind of stuff makes me sick... WTH was this officer thinking.. NADA! I'd file a formal complaint and push it all the way..... Sorry about what happened....

I was a leo for 4 years before I was in a horrible motorcycle accident ending my career. Believe me I will be taking this all the way. I wont be stopping at him, his Watch Seargent, his TO who obviously traind him poorly. They have opened some serious flood gates.

Same thing happened to me on the way to work one morning(in a previous car '97 BMW 528i)... The driver also spoke no English. The passenger asked to use my cell phone after I called the cops... Later another car pulls up with some of his family members who get out of the car and asked me if I followed them home the would give me $500 to fix my damaged rear bumper. I said no thanks I'll wait for the cops. Turns out the car was uninsured, the driver and passenger tried to switch places when the police showed up and the damage to my car was $1500 plus!

If you're in San Diego, call Amato's in Solana Beach. 858-455-6715. ask for Herman, or the owner.

Welcome to the CLUB! I was rearended 5 days ago with 2800miles on the car. Same damage, rear fascia, left rear fender, exhaust system, etc. It really sucks. I'm bringing mine in to Kerbeck's tomorrow. Hopefully both of our repairs go smoothly. Lucky for me, the other guy's Ins is taking responsibility for the whole thing. Sorry to hear about the insurance situation.
Good Luck.

Man Sorry to hear that. Well if you have to replace the tailend you could look into getting the widebody kit...just a thought.
