First Dead Battery Experience
I used my key to open the rear hatch and then pull the emergency door opener cable located in the rear hatch area. I opened the hood and pulled my pickup truck up close to the front of the C6. I connected the battery cables to both vehicles as recommended and started the C6. Pretty painless actually.
What I was curious about was just what would have to be reset such as memory seat positions, radio stations and settings, and possibly more.
As it turns out, once I got the motor started, the only thing that become evident immediately was that my windows needed to be 'Indexed'. This process took me all of about 20 seconds to index both windows. All of my radio station presets were still in place as were my memory seat positions which I was a bit surprised about. I figured all the radio stations would have to be reset, but no.
The only other thing I saw was that the region in my NAV radio had been reset to the default setting of the Eastern region. The clock was also set to Eastern time. I changed those settings back to my requirements (west coast) and also reset the clock to my time zone. That was it, not that bad really.
It does however make you wonder about our progress. I had a '70 GTO that could sit in my garage for 6 months (no battery tender) at a time and it would start up immediately when I turn the key. Let the 'Vette' sit too long, and the battery goes dead.

Is it progress? Who knows.
