I am looking at the Borla system for my 05. There is no correlation between the Borla website and the information everywhere else. The Borla website is mediocre at best with the information provided. They have either a "system" or "aggressive system". On this board I have read about Stinger, Stinger II (sport and cruiser) and Sport. If you talk to GM, they tell you their systems are made by Borla, but call them a touring or performance exhaust. Can anyone help explain all the differences. I am guessing there are probably only a couple of mufflers, but they have mulitple names. Really appreciate the help.
Borla makes 2 basic exhausts for the Corvette. The Sport and the Touring. The "aggressive" is the Sport, and the "plain" is the touring. I went with the Touring (11745) and I am happy with it. Just loud enough when I get on it and a little rumble at idle. I have MN6 an there is absolutely NO drone.
The old stinger is now the aggressive. I have a full system available for way less than retail. Just remember that this system gets loud after headers and no cats.
My Dealer put Stingers on my 07 before I picked it up.
Good tone, sounds like a car should. We don't seem to
notice a drone on the road. Car now has nearly 10K on
it (5 months old) and no problemo with the Borlas. Love em.
I have the GM performance exhaust which is the Borla Touring. I love the sound with headers, cam and heads.
i've driven a c6 with the borla touring and headers and i loved the sound. no drone and not LOUD. never heard the borla stingers but i'm guessing touring w/headers is kinda close...no?
