Default UPF filters???

On my old SS, i would used the UPF44 filters. I just picked up my C6, and was looking for UPF48 filters, but the dealership says he has no idea of what a UPF filter was. I then tried google, and didn't anything either?

so, does anyone know where to get them?

I don't know what a UPF48 filter is, but mine uses a PF48 (Delco) bought at the dealer.

i know what a PF48 is.

THe Upf series of Delco filters have better synthetic filtering material on the inside, which offers better filtering.

I have used and still have a good supply of the UPF filters for our C5. I don't think they make a UPF filter for the newer C6s.

According to "the other Corvette Forum", AC Delco no longer makes UPFXX filters (and never made a UPF48). AC Delco filters are now made by Champion in Mexico and branded AC Delco.

I was using the UPF filter but will likely switch to Amsoil brand.

Another alternative filter you could use is the Mobil One. I just called their hotline (800-882-0890) to find out the model number and was told it was the M1-113 for the LS3.

then what happens if my, oil pump takes a dump. They will likely state that the oil filter was not up to par, and will deny the claim. Then I have to tear the car apart to replace the pump.....and beings that I don't have a lift, i iwll do it on my back. just an example. I am familair with the moss-magnson act, but I am sure that somehow they will try to blame that if i need warranty service

UPF filters can only be used on C6's up until 2006. After that you are SOL. You can still get them from Ken Fitchtner and I think Gene sells them also.

Good luck.

Default ac delco filters.

Never came in the UPF 48 size. Buy yourself a couple cases of PF48 from Gene.

Not all AC Delco Filter are made in Mexico yet. Make sure the box says(made in Detroit) DURAGUARD. The mexican ones DON'T (box says hencho mexico) say DUAGUARD. Champion is doing the sub work for AC Delco. Start stocking up...........remember what happened to the PF25's.Save the Wave.>George

What is the big deal about where the filter is made. What are you all going to b*tch and whine about when the filter on the car as it comes from the factory is made in Mexico.

There are parts made in Mexico, on your vette now coming from the
factory. Just look up from under the front end drivers side
tag says made in Mexico.

Give me a break I've heard way too much whining on the Forum lately but you, young man, take the proverbial cake! Give yourself a break and enjoy your Corvette.
