I had a chance to attend a 1-day school up at Skip Barber's facility at Laguna Seca. It was a great time, I learned a lot and the instructors were good folks. I'm now interested in taking a more serious 3-day course possibly leading to a little racing...
I've done some research and have read through the sites for Barber, Bondurant and Spring Mountain. I've read some good postings here about each of them. I'm leaning toward Bondurant because they have C6s but cannot make up my mind.
Has anyone out there attended courses both at Skip Barber and Bondurant and can offer some comparisons?
I went to the Spring Mountin school and it was fantastic, talking with other students and they all said that you get more seat time in the Corvettes that any other school they had attended. I can't tell ya from personal experience. Good Luck.
I haven't done Bondurant, but thinking about it. There is one here in the valley of the sun. I'm also interested in the fact I will driving a Corvette.
I did do a three day Skip Barber school at Road America in WI. WOW! The cars were BMW's at the time, but what a thrill. Great instructors, and after finishing early they took our own cars to the garage, checked them out, pumped up the tires, and then let us run the same course to see how we translated our learning.

My nephew wants to learn how to drive a manual trans, but I don't want to use my vette.
Would you know if any of these driving schools would teach a 16yr old how to drive a manual trans?
We attended Spring Mountain's 3 day Level I Class and it was awesome. Just a handfull of studets to an instructor. All the cars are Corvettes, either C5 Z06, C6 Coupes or C6 Z06's. As noted, you have a minimum of one half hour of seat time to every half hour of class time. At each drive you can select from any of the cars, trading often heightens the experience. You will learn not only your own limits, but the cars as well. Terrific, patient and excellent instructors. Just can't say enough great things about the experience. With your previous driving school experience you may want to check out the two day Level 2 Class. Give Jan a shout and she'll give you the necessary detail.
I am a Skippy School grad...went into Formula Ford racing...every penny spent in the schooling and subsequent racing series I would do again and again... skills carry over to 'normal' driving, club autoX etc. If you have the means absolutely proceed...do not do the later "I wish I had..."

Spring Mountain has C6s and C5s and a difficult driving course to learn how to drive. I was impressed with my 3 days there.
I doubt if there are many who've done more than one school. I recommend the Bondurant school, having been there twice. But I don't necessarily recommend it over all others.
