Now would this have been post here if it was a ricer that crashed his car? No but it should since it would of been a good reminder to us of how quickly things can go terribly wrong.
Actually I think we have had that posted here before havent we?
aslo: We had the Rev-It-Up event here last weekend. They were charging $10 for a hot lap in a Z06 Corvette. On one lap, the cars brakes faded away. The pro driver (with a paying spectator) crashed at an obscene speed. The car went completely sideways, crashed into a cub, a fire hydrant (which landed over 100 ft away), a pole, and a tree before exploding into flames. Luckily there were only minor injuries (don't ask me how).

I saw that picture MONTHS ago.... I'm not believing this story, or at least that this picture goes with your story...
Also if this ever did happen at a GM Rev-It_up event, you can bet your bottom dollar that GM would have discontinued the ride along program immediately and forever.
They still ran it all summer of 2007.
Your picture above was found on Wrecked Exotics.com from 2006 with a BS caption added to it.. The same one you quoted above.

Yep, but to call the C5 kiddies on this obvious fake would have generated a lot more response posts - and the mods already removed from this thread a lot of other responses.

Not funny, Yes the one in the yellow died instantly, and it has been covered in OT extensively. He was 41, a good source and witness stated " he was driving at high rate of speed on old country road, and tried to slow down, because he saw a police car in the gas station." The other driver in the c5 died also.

To think once a pretty little maden rolling down the line at Bowling Green.
It's gettin like the ooooooold days when all us young dudes were rodding around in 396 chevelles , camaros, gtos, sheblys and the like. The carnage and wrecks were nonstop. The cars went well but handled and stopped for nada.
'course, at the time in the late 60s it seemed very few vettes were in bad wrecks. At the time we thought that was because most vettes were owned by old men ( 40,50, ). you know those old men...they know they are mortal and take more care than the young bucks who think they are immortal etc.
Well, now it's the vettes that are getting toasted by drivers who take too many chances. I am sorry to see people get injured or killed while driving vettes BUT most of the time it seems that poor judgment, poor driving skills, or just plain stupidity are at fault....just like in the ooooooooold days in fact.
Clearly, a good number of hot shots who buy Z06s can't handle the car and are too ignorant to understand that they can't handle the car. I think this applies to some C6 owners too. Like, hey guys, work up to the power and handling capabilities and don't trust the nannies to save your bacon all the time. I mean the car can't fly ( at least not safely ).
I wonder what will happen when the SS/Blue Devil starts to hit the streets. Hopefully, the very high price ( for most of us anyway ) will keep the youngest drivers out of the drivers seat for now.....that will only leave old fools who will wreck the cars on public roads.
It feels kinda like deja vu now....from many years ago when the perfect storm of insurance rates, gas prices, and economic conditions came together to end the original muscle car performance era.
Every C6 or Z06 crash I hear about is cause for sadness for the driver or others no matter who is at fault. BUT....each case is also a sad reminder that the poor behavior of a very small percentage of owners just might end the fun for all the rest of us who take the responsibility of owning such a car seriously etc.
