I have 2005 manual vert with 17,000 miles. Have had issues with shifts into first. Dealer did $3,000 work under warranty and solved most issues. Only problem remaining was having to always wait a second to down shift into first. After waiting always went in smoothly. Had dealer perform anti-venom (copper washer at connection to transmission) as recommended on forum and now shifts into first fine. My questions are:
1. has the addition of 1/8 inch washer not increased the length of the linkage between transmission and shifter? Can this be adjusted out?
2. do after market shifters work? How do they improve shifting other than shorten throw?
