Default 2008 C6 Tpms

What is the training procedure for the sensors? Do I really need the tool or will the magnet suffice? All the pics I am seeing show the tool and a small magnet with a hole in the middle. This small magnet works on the TPMS sensors on my Navigator but I am wondering if it will also work on the Vette.

I plan on putting some rims on my Vette. The setup I am looking at is chrome 19/20 w/the sensor's in them. He's letting them go for $1500 so I can't let it go. The tires only have about 200 - 300 miles on em.

He sold his vert but these are the rims:

You will likely need the tool. The early '05 C6's had the sensors that a magnet would work on. Every one from their has needed the tool. I have no information to believe that the 2008's are any different.

I'm essentially in Olathe (Pflumm and 119th) and I have the RF reset tool you will need (OTC 3833 = Kent-Moore J-46079, but more universal).

PM or e-mail me and we can arrange to reset your sensors for you.

Regards,

An old post from the archives, FYI/additional info on procedure for C6.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...highlight=tpms

The donut magnet was C5 and very early '05 C6 (first few months of production kind of deal) as Talon noted above. I believe the '08 is same as late '05 thru present.

Cool...we're neighbors so what the heck!!! Thanks man, got your PM. I'll hit you up when I get the rims. It'll probably be a few weeks due to some biz trips I got going on. Once they settle down, I'll go get these rims from him and have em put on. Again, thanks for helping me out.

BTW, will the Vette retain the original sensor information or does it only store 4 wheels and have to be reprogrammed everytime I swap em out?

When you do the relearn procedure you are registering the individual sensor ID#'s into the TPMS computer's memory. When you do the first one it wipes out the previously stored ID#'s.

It only retains the last the 4 sensors that are registered. So....yes, you have to reprogram them every time you swap wheels/tire/sensors.
