No DIC Memory?
Ok, having now taken my car in three times for the "service active handling" message in the DIC only to have the service dept tell me each time, "cannot duplicate", I was finally able to make time to take it straight to the shop while it was happening so they could "pull the code"
Two things about this drive me crazy.
The first is that I researched this issue on the this site and told them most likely it was the tech bulletin associated with the sensor in the steering column. However, they won't perform a tech bulletin unless they get the code.
This leads me to the second thing. Why the heck can't GM put a $1 nonvolatile memory device in the diagnostic system to latch and save the messages in the DIC so we don't have to go through this all the time? I design products for a living and I can design this capability into a $500 computer, but GM can't design it into a $50,000 car?
