Why is this so hard to program, I am following the instructions and all that it seems to do is reset the memory in the GDO causing me to reprogram the other vehicles (Infiniti and Nissan) which have Homelink and are much easier to work with, can anyone share the secret on HOW to friking program this ???

Should work then. Many have reported success by calling Lear at 866-572-2728. Be sure to mention that programming the Corvette is causing other cars not to work. That doesn't sound at all right. I programmed mine for 2 doors and the other 4 remotes continued to work just fine.

It may be your garage door opener too. When we added our newest two cars we found out two of our other remotes stopped working. It turned out we maxed out the number of remotes/homelink/car2u units that the opener supported.

Programming these things has been a nightmare. A lot more secure then homelink. BUT a pain none the less. Glad you got your's working. Learcar2u.com is pretty helpful and their support staff is great.

Many older Garage Door's openers require a retrofit adapter. Even though there web site shows a cost of 29 bucks they will give it to you for free if you whine a little bit.

where does this conversion adaptor go? in the garage or in the car? I have a duplex with a shared garage. Will this affect my neighbor's ability to use his remote if I install the adaptor?

If you have problems, CALL THEM! Great support site, fixed me up in 5 minutes. Save time and have your GD opener Make and Model AND your Remote (there are code #'s on the back) at the phone when you call.

Hate to appear stupid, but this (new '08) is my third vette and I am unable to program the homelink. Is this adaptor necessary? Or is this an aftermarket product with addtional features?? All I want is to program the homelink so the door will open....thanx.

Chances are it's a lear unit and not the homelink. There are a number of openers that don't work with the lear unit. My Hormann is one of them.

Please don't revive old threads. Start a new one, especially when they're this old.
