I think you can just pull the fuse on it. If you want to get rid of it completely, I would just change out the whole windshield then.

Pulling the fuse does not completely deactivate onstar. Removing the antenna might but is not 100% guaranteed if you really want to hide. Removing the box will make you feel safe and secure ;0
BUT the helicopters can still circle overhead. There IS NOTHING you can do about that.
If you disconnect the antenna cable to the cell phone and install a shorting plug (A connector that has it center pin soldered to the shell) then no way can it receive or transmitt. Remember the whole system relies on sending and receiving data via the cell phone.
