Default TPW Question

I received a TPW of 10/29/07 - That leaves me just one week. When should I expect to receive a confirmed day for the build?

You will not recieve an exact day unless you are doing museum delivery.

If you're doing museum delivery, you can probably expect it to be scheduled for the week of November 12th.

I am doing the Buyers Tour and Museum Delivery, but did not expect the TPW to be as late as November 12th. Could it be any earlier?

Per your original post, your TPW (Targeted Production Week) is October 29th. The museum typically schedules deliveries for 2 weeks after production. This gives them time to receive the car, check it out, and correct any problems that might be identified. If you haven't already done so, I recommend that you contact the museum, tell them your TPW, and ask them for the earliest delivery date they can give you.

M is right. And I can't tell from your profile (it isn't quite complete) but wherever you're driving to, sooner delivery is better than later. This IS November you'll be picking it up, and even tho it's been very warm, snow is always a potential.

Depending on how soon you can make it, I've been told the Museum really likes Tues. and Wed. They call it their two slowest days, altho you couldn't prove that by my pickup.

Good luck with it.

That is the point I tried to make. If my TPW is 10/29/07, will it actually occur that week?

I am doing the Buyers Tour and Museum Delivery and have registered with the NCM. I just have one week before the 29th and have not received any communications of a production day for the Buyers Tour. How much notice should I get before the Buyers Tour day?

If you are doing the buyer's tour the museum will let you know what day the car is scheduled. You might want to drop Gary an email (address at the bottom of the NCM buyer's tour page) and give him your order number (all those letters -- why don't we call it an order letter?) so that he can tell you as soon as he knows. Enjoy the tour -- it is a long day and then some, but great fun and a real learning experience for any Corvette nut.

My TPW was suppose to be 8/20 it was moved back to 8/27 with plenty of notice, I also did the buyers tour and it was Great ! Call Lori at the NCM and she can give you current information on your car's status since they work closely together with the factory on the buyers tour, if you are doing a Museum Delivery you can schedule that also when you talk with Lori, have your order number when you call. I did the Buyers Tour by myself and was able to spend ALL DAY following my car during the build, "We' went back two weeks later and did the Museum Delivery , my wife loved it ! took a little extra time for a extended trip home (3,200 miles) Great Trip You will be happy ! Enjoy

I agree; you don't have to wait for them to call you. Monday morning, first thing, just call the 800 number. Either Lori or Karen always pick up and they know the answers and are very nice.

Get the Order Number from your salesperson (yes, it's all letters, as mentioned) and call NCM this week.

They'll go over the whole process with you, and will soon be able to give you the VIN number, too. The museum guys can get the VIN LONG before dealerships typically have access to it since you need it to complete your pre-delivery paperwork at the dealership before your trip to BG.

My TPW is 10/29 as well (got pushed back 1 week).

Delivery should be week of 11/12, but I may need to delay it yet another week due to scheduling conflicts.

MAN, all this waiting and delays are starting to suck . . .

Barring something unforeseen, it's highly likely that your car will be built that week, though it could be any time that week. As others have suggested, it would be a great plan to contact the museum in order to schedule your delivery and buyer's tour. Be assured that they will take excellent care of you.
