Default 1st Vette ordered last week

This is my 1st post and my 1st Vettte. As with most 1st timers I have wanted one all my life (46 yrs). I ordered a CRM, Z51, 3LT, NPP, and 2-tone seats with museum pickup. I have a W2W on it's way. How long is it taking GM to get the cars built. I ordered on Oct 10 when can I expect to get my new baby.

Nice to have you on the Forum. Remember to ask questions. The only dumb question is the one you don't ask.

Here's your 1st Award . . . .

to monitor your heart rate so get a blood pressure monitor and make sure any bllod pressure medicines are current.....try to spread out the early sudden rushes you'll get driving it.your heart and blood pressure will adapt as time goes on to those surges when you punch it!

seriously, good for you! enjoy and savor it...life is way too short not
too! now start getting the necessary products you'll need for when the
"baby"arrives....got that garage cleaned up? start ordering the correct corvette gear...you have a lot of things to do BEFORE it arrives...have you picked a name?

Your wait time will depend on whether or not your dealer has immediate allocation. If so, your car will be built by Thanksgiving. Museum deliveries are generally set up for around 2 weeks after production. On the other hand, if your dealer does not have allocation the clock doesn't begin to tick until they get it. Once they get allocation and your order gets "picked up", figure on 3 - 4 weeks until your car gets built, then 2 more weeks until you take delivery at the museum.

and therefore (to follow up on mpuzach), if you want to KNOW if your dealer has an allocation, you will want to ask your dealer. usually, they know days and weeks in advance what is their allocation for ordering a Corvette.

the pacing item becomes your "order number" which will start with the letter "M" and be six characters long. that doesn't mean, once you get an order number it's going to be produced. there is still a list of actions that will take place prior to it going into production.

this is from talon90, on 10/14:

Is there a way to check the status of your car through the production line? I have an order# on an '08 and was curious if I could find out what stage it is in. Any ideas? thanks
The easiest way is to post your order number in this thread and Ken will get you your event status code:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1216163

Once you get that here the codes and what they mean so you can play along at home.

STATUS EVENT CODES
1100-Order placed at dealer
1101-Order accepted by GM
2001-Order generated to dealer
2005-Order replaced with GM Prospec order
2050-Order changed
2500-Order sent to production, preferenced
3000-Order accepted by production control
3100-Order available to sequence (now the tpw becomes more stable)
3300-Order selected for production by assembly plant
3400-Order broadcasted for production
3800-Vehicle produced
4150-Vehicle invoiced to dealer
4200-Vehicle shipped
5000-Vehicle delivered to dealer
6000-Vehicle delivered to customer

Your dealer should also be able to do this for you as well.

Congratulations on your order, I can just see a lot of sleepless nights as you await the picking up of your baby. Start looking at what you want to put into the car and the accessories, caps, clothing joining an area Vette Club.

Also you might want to opt to have your teeth whitened as you will have a Vette smile when you nail that throttle.
