Default Adding Fuel Stabilizer

With the two fuel tanks, will fuel stabilizer get evenly distributed in both tanks or should a person pre-mix in a gas can and fill the tank.
Thoughts???

Good question.. you could always put half on an empty tank, fill it half way with gas, then the other half.
How long are you storing it? Gas is good for up to 6 months without using any stabilizer

Sort of my method since 1998. I put in all the stablizer necessary for full tanks in at half a tank. Then drive 2 miles to station, fill it up, drive home and park for winter. NO PROBLEMS

I was talking to a respected local mechanic this summer. He said that gas is not nearly as stable as it was even 5 years ago. That they have seen evidence of breakdown in as little as a month. According to him, the old 6 month rule of thumb is out the window.

FWIW, they do a lot of small engines (2-cycle), and are suggesting that the best proceedure is to add a little Stabil to a real small remaining amount of fuel left in the tank, and then start it and let it run dry (allows the fuel that remains in the bowl to be treated).

That said, your solution for our cars is probably as good as we can get. I have used Stabil for decades with very good results, especially in 2-cycle stuff, which is the most finicky. Time to get er done!
