From my understanding, invoice price is not necesarily what the dealer pays for the vehicle; it may make us more informed to know what they actually pay for a given vehicle, but at the same time, they have overhead to pay. No matter how good a deal we receive, they need to make some kind of profit, if not they could not possibly stay in business.
Edmunds.com is a good start but there are alot of different things to figure in. Dealers have "holdbacks" and special incentives that depend on existing inventories, etc. I don't think you'll ever know the exact dollar a dealer pays but you can get close.
Well,if you want to be a friggin idiot, then search away!!!Invoice is close enough to what they pay for the car as far as the masses are concerned!!Unless you'd like to kick in for the LIGHTS,COMMISSIONS,SALARY'S and any other FAKE OVERHEAD YOU MAY HAVE HEARD THEY HAVE!!GEEZ!!I bet you'll be the first person on line bitching about the resale value of your vette hitting the skids, too!!Buy a TOYOTA!!

calm yourself, if you bought a vette for resale value you bought yourself the wrong car. I on the other hand would like to get the best deal for the money

its not for me, and not for a vette, a friend asked if invoice was the true number to bargain with or if there was a more real number. Obviously invoice is a good indicator, thanks.
