Noisy KDW2's
I just installed new CCW SP500 wheels and BFG KDW2 tires on my car. I really like the look of the wheels and tires, but I've noticed the tires are very noisy. I have a vert. and the weather is getting colder in my area which seems to amplify the sound levels inside the car with the top up. Has anyone else noticed the sound levels with KDW's and do they quiet down any after they wear a little?

I've thought they are quieter than the original supercars. Those tires seemed to sing a different tune on every different type of road surface and were quite loud. Mine, on a coupe, are quiet.

My KDW's are very quiet. I do have what sounds like a bearing "whine", but I know it's not the tires because it does not change from concrete to asphalt roads. You can always judge tire noice by changes in road surfaces. If the noise does not change, it's not the tires.
This is actually the second C6 I've had the KDW's on, and in both cases I think they are quieter than the factory tires.

I do have KDW-2 (255/40/18 & 295/35/19). They are very sticky, but very noisy, especially 4-WD truck tire sound between 40 and 50 MPH, which is very weird and driving me nut.. (I got same opinion from many others). Now I'm thinking to purchase Falken FK-452 or Kumho Ecsta SPT....

Thanks for all the responses. It's probably too soon for me to start considering alternatives. One thing's for sure, the ride and the handling are significantly improved with the BFG's. Hopefully, I'll grow accustomed to the "new sound" soon and start enjoying the positives attributes of these tires.

I hate to say it, but I have heard that KDWs get louder as they wear. Armyyellow05 has them on his 05 coupe and really likes the way they ride and handle. I haven't heard him complain about the noise though.
