I have an 07 z51 and love it too death. Well, I love everything about the car except the tires. I have the Supercar tires on here. It has been cold in here in Md(roughly 45 degrees) and my tire pressures fluctuate a lot. I understand that the pressures coincide with outside temp, but my tires keep going to around 23-24 pounds. So of course the Tire Pressure monitors keep coming on!
Does anyone have a suggestion to what psi I should keep my tires at. The sticker on the inside of the door says 30, but they never seem to stay at 30 for very long(maybe 2 days). Has anyone else had this problem? Also, any suggestions to a good non-run flat tire? Ive heard good things about Toyo. Any info you or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks
Your tires shouldn't be losing that much air in such a short time. Maybe all of them need to have the air valve tightened. Air pressure, when measured with a good hand-held pressure gauge, will drop about 1 psi for every 10° drop in temperature, but that's all.
When the average daily temps here in TN went from 70°-80° to 50°, I had to add about 3 lbs to each tire.
I'd still keep them at 30 psi when cold. But you need to fix the air-losing problem, because you've got one.
Firestone (Firehawk) runflats-wide oval are great tires at a great price. They give the safety of runflats, they ride much better than the GY's, they handle very good and they are much quiter than the GY's. Sounds like "better tires" period! I can't speak for the other brands, but I'm happy with my Firestones....
