From the storage bag instructions:
1.) Lay your GM removable top Storage Bag on the ground with the logo side facing up
2.) open the velcro flag toward you
3.) After removing the top, use the soft, no scratch, felt lining as a cushion for the top
4.)Place the top on the open flap so that the rear of the roof section will enter the bag first(This is real important)
5.) Using one hand to increase the opening of the bag as you gently slide the top panel into the bag will help
6.) Be sure that the top panel is completely inside the bag before resealing the bag
7.) Bring the flap back over to the logo side of the bag and re-attach the velcro fasteners
8.) Bring the handle straps together before listing
9.) Your top panel is now ready to hang using the specially adapted bracket provided to keep you to away from any damaging contact.

(Does sound like the instructions were written in China)

I always found it easier to do it on a bed (put the top in the bag, perverts ) ), assuming you are home. You don't have to worry about scratches... I found it way to hard to do when I was away from home and wanted to take the top off so I only used mine for long term storage.

I got one of them also, and they (the Bags) are too small ,as after the top does get in the velcro doesn't even come close to meeting. They really could stand to be an inch wider and 3 inches deeper.I had to really streach it to even get the top into it.They were produced for GM by CoverKing if I remember correctly.

Just received my genuine corvette roof bag and am having a lot of trouble making the roof fit. Finally got it in but not worth the trouble and expense. All they had to do was make the bag a few inches wider and the problem would not exist. I am going to be very wary in buying any "genuine GM" accessories. Now I believe aftermarket is better quality and better priced.
Now after that rant I feel better.

Ask your wife or girlfriend to do it. My beloved spouse can get about half a pickup load of stuff into her purse; getting the top in the bag should be easy compared to that.

Default Specially Adapted Bracket?

I just bought my dad one for Christmas this year. We had the same problem trying to get the top into the bag. We were putting it in the wrong way. There is definitely a right and wrong way. Although it doesn't look it one end of the top is wider than the other. So we flipped it around and it went no problem.

My question is where is this "specially adapted bracket provided to keep your top away from any damaging contact" that it talks about in the directions? I was just going to head to Lowes and buy some hooks.

The quality control on this bag design is simply pitiful. The velcro pieces do not line up properly, one of mine is off by about 2". Where were these made anyway? GM gets a solid "D" (for dumb) on this item...

I bought a GM bag from Gene Culley, and the top slides in - did it by myself, no problems.

Must be a lot of variation in these......
