Ok things are looking better, I went out at lunch, the rain stopped and the sky is clearing.
I had the cover on so the water did not reach the car to melt it.
It's still a few hours before I leave hopefully the roads will be dry.
Thanks for everyones help and suggestions.

I found were the rain went...it's now over AJ. Good thing I have a nice warm, dry garage.
Take it home quick and dry it off.
Try to get some sleep tonight and don't worry too much. I don't think there's any truth to the rumor that vettes turn into Yugos after they get wet.

YOU DID WHAT!!!! What were you thinking? What if it hadn't rained and the sun came out? You could have faded the paint! ARE YOU CRAZY?!!! Immediately call a towing company and have it flatbedded back to the security of your hermetically sealed garage. You do have a hermetically sealed garage don't you? Or did you let the seals of that get damaged by opening the door?
Sell me your car! Its no good to you anymore. I deal with rained on vehicles all the time. I can make it work again. Your 06 vert is now worth $500.00. Do you have pay pal!
if the vette is covered in the lot, i would consider sleeping over, at your work, you may also consider asking a fellow female employee to share the office space with you, may make the evening go by faster.....
Everything seems to be ok now. I walked to the parking lot after work to find it was lightly raining. I spent the next 20 min reading owners manual to figure out how wipers worked. I watched nervously as the rain wet the car, it didn't seem to do any damage.
The ride home was uneventful as the roads were nearly dry (don't take long in AZ for roads to dry after a rain).
I washed and dried the car. It is in the garage now, I need to go a put a second coat of Zanio on.
I hope this will help others believe you can drive these cars in the rain.
